Cuidado Casero Home Health Services, Inc. was established by a registered nurse in July 1995. The owner started the company on a vision of providing health care to those that have struggled with communicating their needs because of a language barrier. Carmen Santiago the founder of Cuidado Casero Home Health understood this barrier because of her own difficulties in speaking English. She came to Texas from Puerto Rico and started working at the Veteran’s Hospital. She then became certified enterstomal nurse and established a strong network with many physicians and clinics concerning her expertise in wound care, incontinent management and ostomy care.
Mrs. Santiago started the company because of her vision to provide care to the Hispanic community in order to help break the communication barrier and provide a service that has been lacking an ethnic and cultural understanding. The foundation of the company started with a desire to provide better healthcare services to the Hispanic elderly that quickly turned to a strong marketing niche. This niche allowed for the company to begin to get its name out into the community as a provider of home health, to not only the Hispanic elderly, but to all those that need home health care services.
Cuidado Casero Home Health and Hospice is a Medicare certified agency providing home care and hospice in Texas, New Mexico, New Jersey, Virginia, and Puerto Rico. We have accomplished CHAP accreditation in Home Health since 1996 and are also providers for Medicaid, Medicare, Private Insurance, Workers Compensation, and State funded programs for Primary Home Care and Family Care. Cuidado Casero Home Health Services is a wholly owned and operated corporation. Cuidado Casero Home Health Services currently offers effective and coordinated health care services which include outcome oriented treatment plans, rehabilitation services, and disease-state management programs. Bilingual Nurses, Therapists, Medical Social Workers, and office personnel are on staff to meet the needs of the Spanish speaking population
